  • Basic: $9.99 / month or $99.99 a year. 15,000 requests a month, hourly updates, no per-minute limit, unlimited API keys. Adds the convert endpoint.
  • Professional: $34.99 / month or $349.99 a year. 600,000 requests a month, updates every 60 seconds, no per-minute limit. Adds the range (time series) and OHLC endpoints, team management and sandbox API keys.
  • Enterprise: $74.99 / month or $749.99 a year. 1,700,000 requests a month, updates every 60 seconds, no per-minute limit. Adds IP white- and blacklisting, URL whitelisting and an SLA.

On fxapi, the time series endpoint (/v1/range) and OHLC candles (/v1/ohlc) start at the Professional plan ($34.99/month); they are not included on Free or Basic. The convert endpoint (/v1/convert) starts at Basic ($9.99/month). The latest, historical, rate, matrix, fluctuation, average, currencies and status endpoints are included on every plan, including Free.

What are the Free plan's limits?
300 requests a month and up to 10 requests a minute, with daily rate updates, unlimited API keys and no credit card. Paid plans have no per-minute limit. Details on the free exchange rate API page.
How much do paid plans cost?
Paid plans cost $9.99 to $74.99 a month: Basic $9.99, Professional $34.99 and Enterprise $74.99. The Free plan is $0. All prices exclude VAT, and custom plans are available on request.
Which endpoints are included in the Free plan?
Latest, historical, rate, matrix, fluctuation, average, currencies and status, with any base currency and 190+ currencies including crypto and precious metals. The convert endpoint starts at Basic, the range (time series) and OHLC endpoints at Professional.
How often are rates updated on each plan?
Free: daily. Basic: hourly. Professional and Enterprise: every 60 seconds.
Which plan do I need for conversion, time series and OHLC?
The convert endpoint is included from Basic ($9.99/month). The range (time series) endpoint and the OHLC endpoint are included from Professional ($34.99/month) and are not available on Free or Basic. On Free and Basic you can still use /v1/historical for single dates, /v1/fluctuation for start rate, end rate and % change, and /v1/average for monthly, quarterly and yearly averages.
What counts as a request?
Each successful API call counts as one request – a whole time series, set of OHLC candles or average report included. A historical request for several dates counts one request per date. Validation errors, server errors and calls to the status endpoint are not counted.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
The API returns HTTP 429 until your monthly quota resets or you upgrade. Response headers show your remaining quota on every call.
Which formats does fxapi return?
JSON by default. The latest, historical, range, OHLC, matrix, fluctuation and average endpoints also return CSV or an Excel file with format=csv or format=xlsx. The rates are mid-market rates.
How do I send my API key?
In the apikey HTTP header, which keeps the key out of URLs and logs, or as the apikey query parameter. All requests go over HTTPS.
Can I pay yearly?
Yes. A year costs about as much as ten monthly payments (Basic: $99.99 instead of $119.88), so two months are free. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel any time.
